Talks broke down Thursday and the union representing 500 potash workers says strike action will begin immediately at three mines in Saskatchewan. Stephen Hunt of the United Steelworkers says the walkout will affect three Potash Corp. of Saskatchewan sites - Cory, Allan and Patience Lake. The two sides had been trying to reach an agreement through mediation but Hunt says the company would not move away from an offer his members had already rejected. Key issues in the dispute include contracting out work, pensions, wages, vacation and benefits.
